It is not the first time that the store along the highway has been visited by burglars. This time they tried to get into the premises by backing into the glass entrance door with a car and a pallet.
– We know that we are situated in a vulnerable place, it's easy to get out of here quickly. And we have had several incidents since 2010 when we moved into the premises, says the store's CEO.
After a break-in where the door, with glass in protection class 2 at the time, gave in to the thieves, they chose to install the Hammerglass Add-On externally and since then no thieves has managed to enter the store that way.
– It is a very good product, we know this now, after this burglary attempt. Four people with a car have tried to force the door and window by backing into the door with a pallet as a battering ram, but also by using a crowbar. The lower small wooden plate on the door has given way and the frame and panes are certainly chewed up, but not enough for the burglars to get in.
What do you feel when you watch the video?
– Of course, you get both angry and frustrated that people behave like this, but at the same time it is a little satisfying to see how they fail and that we have chosen the right protection for the property. You can almost see in their body language how surprised they are. Burglars are always short on time, so every second you can prolong their attempt to break in increases the chance that they will become stressed and run away. We also have alarms that detect this sort of thing, so the police were quickly on the scene.
