Noise barrier E22, Kalmar

750 meters noise barrier along E22

The 750 m long noise reduction screen along E-22 in Kalmar has been completed on site. The entire screen is printed with Hammerglass stylized LEAF-patterns to prevent birds from flying into it. In addition, 12 of the 400 Hammerglass panels are equipped with a custom-designed motif print for Kalmar City. A total of 40 tonnes of glass panels have been installed.

The end customer Kalmar Municipality has been clear that the screen should blend into the terrain in the best way:

  • Transparent unbreakable Hammerglass noise reduction screen
  • Natural-looking pattern of stylised leaves to prevent birds from flying into the panes, as well as custom-designed prints for Kalmar City
  • Each panel is measured individually and cut trapezoidally so as to follow the contour of the ground, instead of being stepped where the ground slopes
  • Easy to clean of graffiti and of dirt from the road
