CE-marked noise attenuation solutions for roads, bridges and railways. Both the low weight and the hard surface of Hammerglass makes it a popular choice not only for new projects but also for glass replacement. The use of nanotechnology helps to prevent pollutants from exhaust fumes, oil and asphalt from adhering to Hammerglass as easily as they do to ordinary glass. The estimated service life is more than 40 years. Hammerglass Noise Reduction systems are installed on bridge railings and traffic dividers and alongside roads and railways in Sweden, Norway and Finland.

Our solutions are CE-marked
Noise barriers on roadsides must be CE-marked according to EN 14388 – regardless of whether they are made of wood, aluminium, glass or plastic. The only exception to the CE-marking requirement are screens that are built on site from loose timber. If, on the other hand, the elements are produced in a factory, the screen must be CE-marked. However, the fact that a screen is CE-marked does not automatically mean that it is a high-quality product or that it meets the customer requirements. The point of the CE standard is that it should be easier to set requirements as all the products have been tested or calculated on the same scale, but the requirements must be specified in order to be able to make sense in relation to the product delivered. Hammerglass noise barriers are CE-marked according to current standards.

Posts and fixing systems
Hammerglass has a wide range of posts and fixing solutions adapted to how the screen is to be placed and mounted. The posts can be anchored in bridge railings, on plinths or on walls - and strength is calculated based on height and load impact. The Hammerglass sheets are usually 12 mm thick. Before the sheets are cut, each section of barrier for glazing is measured individually, which means that it is possible to produce barriers which follow the contours of the ground. Consequently, the noise reduction barrier does not need to be stepped when there are changes in ground level. Height and design are individually tailored to each project. If necessary, the panels are secured with wire or through bolts. The panels may also be provided with patterns - usually opal or black - in order to prevent bird collisions.

Transparent noise barrier without posts
Visibility without the noise! Hammerglass new CE-marked noise barrier which are to be used in the Stockholm Bypass area is self-supporting. By bending the Hammerglass panels where there should have been a post, the screen itself becomes so rigid that a steel post is not needed between the glass panels.
The barrier has thin anti bird collision stripes that cannot be seen from a distance but are still registered by birds. The result is an almost invisible noise barrier!

SYSTEM GROUND-2
A complete CE-marked system using bolt groups for installation in the ground or onto walls, along roads or railways. Can be supplied up to a height of 6 metres.
Hot-dip galvanised square posts with a ground plate for bottom fitting. It can be installed on support walls or with ground anchors. The Hammerglass panels are clamped between an HFRHS post and a robust clamping profile, and secured with wire at the top if necessary. The Hammerglass panels are installed on the inside of the posts (facing the road).
When installed with bolt groups in the ground it is advisable to bury the panels to a depth of about 20 cm in order to prevent the transmission of noise beneath the barrier. For mounting along railways, all screens are provided with earth rails and each section is earthed separately. A 45 degree bend in the top of the Hammerglass panels reinforces the structure and at the same time contributes to an effective reduction in low-frequency noise from trains. The Hammerglass panels can also be supplied with printed patterns in order to prevent bird collisions.

SYSTEM BRIDGE-2
A complete system for mounting onto bridge posts along roads or railways. Can be supplied up to a height of 6 metres.
Hot-dip galvanised posts for side mounting onto bridge posts. The Hammerglass panels are installed on the outside of the posts with an external support plate and clamping profile. If necessary, the panels are secured with wire at the top. Installation is carried out from the inside of the bridge.
For mounting along railways, all screens are provided with earth rails and each section is earthed separately. A 45 degree bend in the top of the Hammerglass panels reinforces the structure and at the same time contributes to an effective reduction in low-frequency noise from trains.

SYSTEM BRIDGE-3
A complete CE-marked system for mounting onto bridge to the side of the bridge edge girder along roads or railways. Can be supplied up to a height of 6 metres.
The Hammerglass panels are clamped between an HFRHS post and a robust clamping profile, and secured with wire at the top, if necessary. Normally the screen is angled outwards to maintain the working width of the road barrier.

NOISE ABSORBENT HAMMERFOAM
Hammerfoam is complete noise absorbing system for installing on bridges or walls along roads or railways.
The system is based on a fully assembled Hammerglass Ground or Bridge solution and is supplemented by a highly absorbent mat which is clamped to the Hammerglass panel. Hammerfoam is fitted on that side facing the railway track or the carriageway. On the outside of the barrier is fitted the vandal-proof Hammerglass panel, which is also sunk approximately 20 cm into the ground. Hammerfoam can also be used for noise attenuation in combination with other materials - for example, lacquered decorative plates - such as in the 400 m long weather protection at Rosengård Station (Malmö, Sweden).
Hammerfoam is flame-retardant, UV resistant and age-resistant. It also withstands chemicals and pressure washers used for graffiti removal. Hammerfoam does not absorb water.

Safety fittings
Depending on the location and design of the noise barrier, Hammerglass panels may need to be secured in order to prevent them from tearing off their fixing, to avoid the barrier becoming live and to prevent birds from flying into the panels.
- Hammerglass panels are secured with wire at the top
- When assembling next to the railway, each screen is earthed with a separate earth rail
- The curved top provides a high degree of stability and is often used along railway lines where there is a high compressive force from trains rushing past.
- Printed patterns prevent bird collisions
